EDUCATION

Education policy simply cannot come from Washington. Those decisions must be made close to home and remain with your locally elected school boards. These are people you know, many with either kids in the schools or ones who have graduated. They have skin in the game. Parents must have direct input into the education of their children and the best place for that is the meeting room of the school board, not an office in Washington. John Katko was able to pull back common core and keep Washington in check. It’s a tug of war that will continue and I’ll continue that oversight.
